# Qolour — Qubi > Qolour makes Qubi, the world's most beautiful qubit. Qubi is a handheld, interactive quantum computing simulator that lets anyone — from 13-year-old kids to Caltech professors — learn quantum computing, entangle devices, replicate Nobel-prize-winning experiments, and program real quantum computers over the cloud. Qubi is a physical model qubit: a 90mm sphere with 595 full-color LEDs that visually represents a quantum state on the Bloch sphere. Shake it to measure. Twist it to apply a gate. Bump two Qubis together to create entanglement. Connect through the Qubi app to run circuits on real IBM and IonQ hardware. Built by a team of former Apple, Berkeley, UMD engineers and guided by John Preskill (Caltech), Iordanis Kerenidis (Paris Centre for Quantum Technologies), and Yasser Omar (University of Lisbon). ## Key pages - [Home](https://www.qolour.com/): Overview of Qubi, what it is, who it's for - [Preorder Qubi](https://www.qolour.com/preorder): Buy 2 entangled Qubis for $390 (ships June 2026) - [Shop](https://www.qolour.com/preorder/shop): Full product lineup including classroom packs and accessories - [For Enthusiasts](https://www.qolour.com/for/enthusiasts): Desktop quantum computing device, hobbyist use cases - [For Educators](https://www.qolour.com/for/educators): Quantum curriculum with 25+ labs spanning fundamentals, communications, algorithms, sensing, and error correction - [For Kids & Parents](https://www.qolour.com/for/kids): STEM learning for ages 13+, guided lessons disguised as play - [For Organizations](https://www.qolour.com/for/organizations): Workforce training workshops, team-building ## Learning resources - [How Qubits Work](https://www.qolour.com/how-qubits-work): Interactive explainer of qubit basics, measurement, gates, entanglement - [Quantum Computing Glossary](https://www.qolour.com/glossary): Plain-English definitions of qubit, superposition, entanglement, Bloch sphere, Bell state, Shor's algorithm, BB84, decoherence, and 14+ more terms - [How to Learn Quantum Computing](https://www.qolour.com/guides/how-to-learn-quantum-computing): A 4-week beginner's roadmap for learning quantum computing without a math or physics background - [Learning Hub](https://www.qolour.com/learning): Lessons and curriculum content for self-paced study - [Whitepaper](https://www.qolour.com/whitepaper): Technical whitepaper on Qubi's approach to quantum education - [Science: Education Case Study](https://www.qolour.com/science/education): 90-minute pilot with 16 high school students, 83% post-assessment score - [Science: Outreach](https://www.qolour.com/science/outreach): KID Museum Quantum Booth — 4,000+ attendees ## About - [About Qolour](https://www.qolour.com/about): Mission and background - [Our Story](https://www.qolour.com/about/story): Founding story - [Our Team](https://www.qolour.com/about/team): The team and academic advisors - [Contact](https://www.qolour.com/contact): Sales, press, partnerships ## Key facts - **Product**: Qubi (pair of 2 entangled devices) — $390 USD preorder ($500 list price) - **Ships**: June 2026 - **Designed for**: Ages 13+, no math or physics background required - **Hardware**: 90mm sphere, 595 RGB LEDs, IMU, USB-C charging, ~4 hour battery, Bluetooth + WiFi - **Software**: Free iOS/Android app, 30+ activities, guided curriculum, circuit editor, real quantum computer integration - **Real quantum access**: Send circuits to IBM and IonQ quantum computers through the app - **Company**: Qolour, founded by Sohum Thakkar (ex-Apple, ex-QCWare, Berkeley) ## Notable endorsements - John Preskill (Caltech): "Qubi is the world's most beautiful qubit" - Iordanis Kerenidis (Paris Centre for Quantum Technologies): "It's time to stop calling quantum 'counterintuitive.'
