Health & safety warnings

Read these warnings before using Qubi, and keep them available to anyone who uses the device.

Battery safety

Qubi contains a 1200 mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery (3.7 V, 4.44 Wh). Do not puncture, crush, incinerate, disassemble, or expose it to extreme heat or liquids. Do not attempt to remove or replace the battery yourself. Always charge with the provided USB-C cable. In the event of battery damage or swelling, discontinue use.

Magnetic interference

Qubi contains magnets and radios that emit electromagnetic fields, which may interfere with medical devices. Keep the sphere a safe distance away from pacemakers and defibrillators, and consult your physician for guidelines specific to your medical device.

Operating temperature

Qubi is designed to work at standard room temperatures. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or in freezing conditions for extended periods.

Water and moisture

Do not submerge Qubi in water or expose it to heavy rain or moisture. Always ensure the USB-C charging port is completely dry before plugging the device into power.

Not a toy

While Qubi is an educational tool, it contains sensitive electronics and is not intended for use by small children. Keep the device and its charging cable out of reach of infants and toddlers.

Photosensitivity

The interactive LED ring uses flashing and pulsing lights. In very rare cases these light patterns may trigger seizures or discomfort for users with photosensitive epilepsy. Discontinue use immediately if you experience any adverse physical symptoms.

Repair and modification

Do not attempt to take the hardware apart. Unauthorized disassembly will void your warranty and may cause internal damage or personal injury.

FCC compliance (United States)

FCC Part 15 · Two-condition compliance

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

FCC Part 15.105(b) · Class B interference statement

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. This device complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. Maintain a minimum distance of 5 mm from the body during normal operation.

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including cobalt and nickel compounds, which are found in lithium-ion batteries and are known to the State of California to cause cancer. See www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Qubi requires a unique account credential at first pairing, per California Civil Code §1798.91.04.

Battery disposal · SB 1215

Do not dispose of this product in household waste. California residents must return it for recycling at an authorized collection point; see calrecycle.ca.gov. A covered battery-embedded product recycling fee was collected per California Public Resources Code §42466.

Disposal & recycling

According to local laws and regulations, your product and its internal battery must be disposed of separately from household waste. When this product reaches its end of life, take it to a collection point designated by local authorities. The separate collection and recycling of your product will help conserve natural resources and ensure it is recycled in a manner that protects human health.

Warranty & support
